Ask Slater: Adding My Game!

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask Slater’, our Support tech’s weekly column where he addresses questions commonly asked by our userbase! Our question today comes from Tibbles from Awesome Site.

Tibbles writes:

“Dear Slater,

I’ve heard a lot about how awesome your support team is and how great Guild Launch is in general, but when I went to set up my new site there wasn’t an option for my game!  I was really looking forward to getting things set up so that my guildies can check out events and our forums, but I can’t!

What can you do to help me get this resolved?”

Tibbles,

Thank you for letting us know about this.  We do our best to stay on top of new game releases, and we regularly add games to the system, but sometimes even the best Slaters have things fall through the cracks.

There are a few steps to getting this resolved.  The first thing is generally to create a site for a ‘Not Listed’ game, so that your users will have someplace to congregate while I add the game to our system.

After that, go to our Game Requests area and put in a Game Request for the game you’re playing. The area you’ll need looks like this:

There are only a few things I need on our end to get it added:

  • A link to who makes the game
  • A list of the races, classes, or other character-creation information
  • A server list (if it’s an MMO)

Just a link out to the official site can get me the information I need to add it to our system.  This generally takes a few days; when the game gets added, I’ll resolve the game request and you’ll get an email letting you know, so you can switch the site you created over to the newly added game!

If you have a specific question you think would be perfect for these articles, send us the request at support@guildlaunch.com and Slater will personally review it and – after answering the ticket so you have the answer – potentially post it here with your username and guild site. If you would rather not have your username and site posted, Tibbles from Awesome will ask the question on your behalf for Slater to answer.
