Item Hovers – Feature Friday!

A picture is worth a thousand words, and apparently Bracers of Six Oxen is worth 300 DKP to you.  With that in mind… what you really want to do is show off what you got after last night’s raid!

You head to your guild forums to show off the new loot, but something about the plain text just isn’t what you had in mind.  You want your fellow raiders to cheer, the lowbies to swoon and the Guild Master himself to come down and congratulate you for a job well done.  You want them to SEE.

But how?

With Item Hovers, that’s how.  With a simple tag, you can show off the stats of that item and be the envy of all your friends.

By default, if item hovers are available for your site’s game then they are enabled.  But if they’re not enabled, it’s a quick process to straighten that out!

On the ‘Features’ tab of the Admin menu, there is an ‘Item Hovers’ link.  You can choose to enable whatever item hovers for whatever game you’re playing – then click the ‘Save Setting’ link and you’re done!

Or, if you prefer, we have a tutorial video:

But how do I use it?

Once they’re enabled, you can use the tag for your game items to link the item hover.  For World of Warcraft, it’s [wowitem]Item Name[/wowitem] to get it to display on the forums.  Once you post that, it will look like a link – when someone else hovers over it, they will see the item stats and know just how epic you truly are.

This is a basic rundown of available Item Hovers.  Much like our Ask Slater Tuesday posts, if you have something you’d like to see, let me know!  Send me an email at support@guildlaunch.com or send me a tweet – I’m @GL_Slater on the Twitter.
