RELEASE: Version 3.1.2 - Performance & Ventrilo Widget
Greetings Everyone,
I'd like to announce the release of Guild Launch Version 3.1.2. This version is a small release with enhanced code profiling for us so we can better monitor and ensure application performance and stability. Most of the changes are behind the scenes in our logging code, so you won't see them directly. However, there are two noticeable changes:
1. We've improved the performance of the Roster page character list. We tuned some queries and call flow to shave a bit off the page load time. This page is one of the most heavily used, so every millisecond counts.
2. You will no longer be presented with database errors if they occur. Instead a more friendly message with an error ID that matches the ID of the exact error info in our logs will be presented.
3. We have now included Thumper's Ventrilo Widget as an option on the content page. This widget is quite nice. It allows viewing of channels, who's in the channel, a login link, a more information link and only shows the channels that have people in them so it reduces the visual clutter.
I definitely recommend trying out Thumper's Ventrilo widget if you use any of our other widgets, it is a far superior Ventrilo widget.
In addition, we will be launching a new public Ventrilo server for use on the Launchpad and the Support site. We won't be providing official support using the Ventrilo server, but it will be available for our community to chat on and for you to certainly support each other.
Enjoy!
Stephen

I agree this is nice; however, is there any ETA on the ability to set permissions for viewing of widgets? We have an open Ventrilo server (i.e., no password); however, we don't make it public knowledge. So currently the "Who's on Ventrilo" widget is better as Thumper's shows too much and allows anybody to connect which isn't what we would like.
The ability to designate viewing groups for particular widgets would be a lot nicer...
