The carat will no longer bounce to the top of the forum post when using BBCode. This should remove a significant amount of frustration for the heavy forum users.

After update I can't edit the HTML widgets. I click edit, click the HTML button in the WYSIWYG editor and a blank editor window opens. No code is displayed and I am not able to enter anything. This has happened both with an existing widget and when trying to create a new one on two separate sites.
I'm quite shocked by this update. I did know that you would base this "chat" on the one that have been on your site for some time now. But I did not realize that you would publish the exact same "chat" solution. This is a utter waste in my opinion, and I'll tell you why.
I think that the people wanted a way to chat privately with their online friends. This update have brought us an advanced auto updating Shoutbox and Twitter mix, which I'm pretty sure is not needed.
What I think most of the users want is simply to:
- Auto sign in to a chat box
- Preferably one that can be detached or opened in another window so you can have it active at all times.
- See who is currently in the chat room
- Write to your friends in real time, using enter for each message
I've been posting about this for many, many months and have given suggestions to functionality. Other users have done exactly the same thing, and I've never seen a anyone wanting the functionality that is brought to us by this update.
I'm not trying to be a bitch here. I apologize for sounding so negative, but it is not much good to say of this chat. It's just to similar in function to Shoutbox, Twitter and the forums to actually be of much use. One thing I could use this for is active discussions. It would be more real time and easier to send comments and keeping the discussion alive. But again, it would be really hard for people to figure out if they're supposed to write on forum or in this "chat". I think it will never be used in our case.
So, what can make this chat work?
- Make this a widget (replacing shoutbox in some cases), and a linkable page so you can have a dedicated window for it.
- Show who is logged into the chat on one of the sides of this box
- Make this a realtime chat, and not a message board.
- Enter = send message
- Fix the private issues, and set the default to your members site only. Most people don't care about the rest of the guilds or communities

Notice: Please consider the chat to be something of a Beta. Until we launch something like this it is impossible to see it in action with a huge number of chatters.
There is an issue with cross-community chatter that I think it is causing a misunderstanding of how this works. We're working on a solution to that and we're going to reset the chats in a bit so you all can re-enable them and see them more like we expected them to be.
We're trying to release chat functionality that goes a bit beyond the standard chat. Possibly, we've gone too far, but I don't think so. I think that instead we need to evolve the functionality and see how it goes.
We definitely want all of your feedback You didn't have any integrated chat yesterday and you do have intergrated chat now. Is it perfect for everyone? Maybe not, but we think its pretty awesome and we have users who have been beta testing it who think it's pretty awesome. Now we just have to find the middle ground on the feature set.

Ok, I'm not sure how the communities thing works in chat. How do you know if what you are posting is going to just your guild, just your game or the whole world? Will web site members be automatically logged in to Scribe when they log in to the web site? I must have started chat right when it was being re-set because it asked me to create an account but posted my message to the chat box after I closed and re-started.
I kinda agree with Huthur on this new Stribe feature. Until this "chat" feature can be more focused to the guild's needs, I'm not going to activate it.
I know GL is trying to push new boundries but I don't have many folks in my guild wanting Stribe as it's currently configured. My guild will wait and see how this chat capability develops over time.
On a positive note, all the other performance improvements are greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, there was a bug at launch that led to the guild only chat not being guild only. With that bug in place people *really* didn't see the functionality as it was expected to be seen. With those bugs fixed Stribe is behaving much differently, especially with regards to the semi-private guild chat.
I'm curious what you think is lacking or not operating as you would want it to. In other words, how exactly does this not meet the guilds needs? With specific feedback we can work to find the feature set that maximizes utility and forward progress.
Also, it can't hurt to enable it and play with it on the page only version.
