Guild Launch News
Armory Imports, new Armory Site, etc.
Greetings,
We have been getting a lot of questions regarding the old versus new Armory. So, I wanted to outline some things. First, we're well aware that new profiles exist. We're well aware that they are pretty cool. However, Blizzard has not made XML feeds for them yet. So, they won't work for imports (without some heavy lifting on our part, it's doable, but not preferable). Blizzzard has stated that XML feeds will be made available for the new site.
Blizzard blues have indicated they would keep the old armory up, but their seems to be some confusion on this front. It would be a waste of time to implement a method that imports the new data format (in HTML, which will have reliability issues) when Blizzard will be releasing a proper XML or JSON feed soon. Given that, we have to use the old Armory site for the imports, since that is where the XML feeds are. This data will be accurate, it just might not exactly match the new site.
Here is their statement as of the 4th:

At this time, we're not sure if this has changed, since they seem to be redirecting the Armory to the new site, but we're on top of it.
The end result is that we're waiting for the final word from Blizzard before we jump in one direction or the other. That final word is probably a few days away. Please be patient and we will get imports working again as soon as possible.
