Site Chat Updates - Open Beta Status
I like this chat thing.
And I might replace the shout box after it's being improved.
What i like do to is:
I created a community for the guildsite, but it needs to be navigated and I don't want my guildembers to go through a hassle looking for the community I created.
So I wondered if it could be made like a direct link and put that one in the "navigation bar' from the site? And so they will be in the guild community directly.
-Is the chat still filtered?
I posted a test message in my community I created, but it appears in the normal view too, so I'm not sure if this meant to be like that.
-I made some changes to the "look and feel" for the chat to appear on the Stribe website, but there's nothing changed in the Guildlaunch site?
Good work. (thumbs up)
Jamhead.

I had Meebo on our old site and we used it all the time while we were each on various other sites (ie. Facebook, Yahoo IM, etc.). I was disappointed that we'd have to give up that functionality when I moved the site to GuildLaunch. So today I enabled the chat feature thinking it would at least be something.
I really like the potential here. An open guild chat with the PM ability was NOT something we could do with Meebo. However, I would much rather have it open to my own site's community rather than the spammy feeling larger community.
Is there any way to do this? I clicked on the little gear icon expecting to have a few more settings. Also, every time I change pages, the chat jumps back to the very annoying larger community. Is there a way to keep it from losing my community selection?
Also, I've noticed that when I click into the chat page while the popup bar is minimized on the rest of the site, the on-page chat is minimized as well. If I go to one of the other pages and open the popup bar and click back to the chat window it is there. Is this something that can be fixed so that members can choose which method of chatting they would prefer to use?
Thank you and the rest of the Guild Launch team for your hard work. My old site was partially WYSIWIG and partially hard coded. It didn't have near the functionality and was much harder to update. This is easy enough that my boyfriend (who is completely code illiterate) built a site for his guild as well!

I've connected my kinship to Facebook and Twitter; I understand how the extra Stribe features could be seen as gratuitous. However, I like the fact that it stays within the LOTRO community on Guildlaunch and gives you the option to filter the updates to your own kin/guild/etc. When it resets to community, I can see that other people are getting badges & using their sites. In my case, this is great because I recognize most of the kinships listed as being in our alliance -- which is probably due to our recent discovery of GL.
I'm not a hardcore gamer by any means, but I'm like an information sponge when it comes to social networking. I can see the potential for the Scribe chat as being better than any LOTRO Wiki. People might post a GOOD question that isn't easily answered by my kinmates -- it then behooves me to find the answer. But, I need to play my game too; Here's a record you can come back to since your chat logs are deleted when you log out. It also gives lead to some healthy competition if some kin/guilds want use it to boast or gloat.
My ONLY complaint: ..is now I can't get to my site page on my phone with the Stribe enabled (I have a Palm Pre... I know, don't laugh so loud!). It doesn't allow me to scroll around the page when the Scribe feature is or has finished loading. I'm gonna check to see if some of our Android users have any issues, but for now.. it's going to be disabled until that issue can be resolved. or I get a new phone.. whichever comes first.
SUGGESTION:
1. Perhaps restrict the community information to an individual server? Or at least give the option? I could see that being a benefit to community and recruiting.
2. Are there any developers that are working on a GuildLaunch Mobile Application(for Android, or any company other than Apple)???? Because that would be Awesome. ^_^
