SNEAK PEAK: Version 4.0
Just to whet everyone's appetite here are some of the features coming in Guild Launch version 4.0. The release date for this release hasn't been decided.
Custom Character Roster Columns
This feature makes the columns on the character roster fully configurable. Primarily you can adjust:
1. Whether the column displays at all.
2. The order of the columns
The columns that exist currently can't be renamed, but they can be moved around and you can determine whether to show them. In addition, you can create custom columns. Custom columns are text fields that appear for data entry on the character's profile and can be configured as such:
1. Visible by Anyone, or member admins only.
2. Whether to show at all
3. Whether to show on the roster or only the character profile
4. The order of the columns
5. Whether the field is editable by the user or admins only
This feature provides a ton of flexibility. You can use it to create an officer note that is editable on the character profile and visible by admins only. You can use it to create a note that is editable by admins, but visible by anyone or editable by the user and admins and visible to anyone.
You can use it to add fields for key information, spec details, all sorts of things. I expect that many people will initially use this feature to remove the faction column and the profile last updated column, but there is alot of power lurking under the hood.
Character Rank Imports from the Armory
Every WoW guild will get 11 new ranks that are matched to the 11 in-game available ranks. These ranks will be named "In-Game Rank 0" though "In-Game Rank 10". Rank 0 is the guild master and the ranks go from there.
The armory import will be receiving a checkbox that says "Synchronize Ranks from Armory". Selecting this will update all characters on your site that are found in the Armory.
The rank page will get a new column called "In-Game #". This column will allow you to always know what the number of the rank in-game is even after you rename them to their real names from the "In-Game Rank 0-10" default names. This way if you reorganize the ranks in-game you can quickly sync them back up.
These special ranks for Armory synchronization cannot be deleted. However, whether you actually use them is completely up to you. If you decide to use them and check the checkbox for synchronizing ranks then your characters found in the Armory will stay synced up with their in-game ranks.
This feature is a major time saver for guilds of any size and takes alot of the management out of roster maintenance.
Other Features
We've also got a few other features in the works, but they aren't ready enough to announce. We'll announce them as they get more towards completion.
Enjoy!
