Firefox Browser Caching & Firebug/Web Developer Toolbar
Greetings Everyone,
While doing some development work on our image serving from the new file storage server we came across a Firefox issue with caching. It seems that a recent version of either the Web Developer tools or Firebug will sometimes disable your cache in Firefox. This causes you to have slower page load times especially on sites you visit often, such as your guild site.
So, if you are running those addons you may want to check you cache settings by doing the following:
1. Type about:config in your URL bar.
2. Read the message, if you want to continue click the "I'll be careful" button
3. In the filter box at the top of the page enter 'browser.cache'
4. Check the 'browser.cache.disk.enable' setting.
------ If it is false. Double click the line to set it to true.
5. Check the 'browser.cache.memory.enable' setting.
------ If it is false. Double click the line to set it to true.
Your caching will now be reenabled and you will enjoy some faster page loads all around.
Enjoy!
Stephen
