Item List Page Size 25
Not sure how much attention these forums get anymore.
Our guild uses rapidraid and the Items > Recent Items page (rapid_raid/items.php) is a list of all items won on the raids, which is great.
But it defaults to 25 items per page with no discernable way for the user to change that to 50, 100, 1000, All, etc.
I've tried various querystring parameters but none are having an effect.
Anyone have a clue how to expand this 25 to something more reasonable?
This "performance" reason confounds me as a 25+ year web application developer and DBA but I'll accept it as it's your product, so I'll stop looking for ways to improve the UX and people will continue to have to click through pages for particularly active raid nights where 50 things dropped.
I thank you for the quick response!
Torukai, we appreciate the feedback. However, you seem to be confounding system default options with UX/UI related features. We didn't say it wasn't a UX improvement to provide a dropdown or some other method for a user to see more items in one page.
We said the default was chosen for performance in an environment in which hundreds of thousands of sites and millions of users interact with the product, the defaults are chosen for performance. This is not a single page load performance, but system wide.
The UX of having a dropdown for a user to quickly get a long list is an entirely separate issue, which we'll certainly consider separately from the default which we are not going to change.
