Update on Office Move
Greetings All,
I just wanted to update you all on our office move. As many of you know, there was a fire in our office building on July 19th. No none was hurt, but the opposite side of our office building was burned to the ground, and our half remained standing. The firefighters did an amazing job and kept our things from actually burning.
As you can see, Guild Launch is fully operational. Our support email is hosted offsite, our web servers are in a data center in the midwest, our Ventrilo servers are dispersed around the world, so operationally we are good to go.
The result of this has been that we need to move our offices, we haven't lost any data since we had things offsite and beyond that were able to recover harddrives. What we have had to do is find new office space and setup utilities and order new equipment in a very short amount of time. In addition some utilities couldn't be started to be setup until we found office space and as many of you know, the phone company works on their own schedule it seems and Dell has their own dark art for delivery scheduling.
At this time, we've found a new office and we're waiting on all of the services to go live and for some new hardware to be delivered. The fact is, this sort of move is never easy and always takes longer than you planned or hoped since so much is dependent on other companies and other people. Once services are setup and delivery happens we'll be back on track with our development schedule and our first order of business will be to finish testing the Late July release that we were testing when the fire occured. Right now, we're working from home and working on backend support systems, working on video tutorials, working on Warhammer and AOC graphics, and Mike is doing support like he always has. Essentially, we're still accomplishing alot of very useful things, though you may not see the effect as directly as if we released a new feature.
I'll update you all as we get more info.
-Stephen
