Sneak Peak: Upcoming Version 6.2 Additions
Greetings Everyone,
I wanted give you all a sneak peak at 2 important features and 1 enhancement planned for Version 6.2. There are other items in this release as well of course.
Feature Additions
Multi-Class Support during Character Creation
Currently multi-class games are handled by selecting the primary class during character creation and then the secondary class as a custom roster column. This works, but isn't as clear to users and isn't 100% intuitive. So, for multi-class games wer'e reworking character creation so this can be done right when the character is created.
Spec Designation
Currently specs can also be added as a custom roster column. This works, but again it isn't as clear and it isn't directly in the user's flow, so we're reworking it. The first game that we will support specs in is WoW since they are releasing dual specs in 3.1. We will be adding spec info as we collect the spec info for the 100s of games we support and will be prioritizing based on the number of guilds in the system. Getting down to the spec level requires another level of research about the games so getting all of the info entered for the major games will take a few release cycles.
Enhancement
The Character creation pages are being completely reworked. The new process is a single page that uses Ajax to populate the related fields. This should make the process feel less 'Clicky' and make it considerabley more clear and concise.
Users have asked that we do a 'Quick Create' for WoW characters using the Armory. This is something we hope to add in this release, but we may have to push to the next release depending on timing. It's on our radar and is on the plan, but there is other functionality we need to dovetail it with.
Enjoy!
