Guild Launch News
WoW Version 3.1 Updates
Greetings,
We've timed our 6.2 release to go out the day after WoW's 3.1 release since Version 6.2 includes support for new WoW 3.1 features. So, the time is now!
We will be releasing Guild Launch Version 6.2 tomorrow morning, April 15th, during our maintenance downtime. This release will require no extra downtime.
Guild Launch Version 6.2 contains:
Features
* A revamped character addition process - one page, more Ajax, easier and quicker to use.
* Multi-spec support for WoW
* Single Spec support for Warhammer
* A new system to support spec info for all games as we collect and enter the info
* A new import for the profiler (to support multi spec)
* 2 new roster columns for WoW - Spec, Sec. Spec
* 1 new roster column for Warhammer - Spec
* Additional color coding in Rapid Raid
* Alignment changes on the guild roster and Rapid Raid to make scanning the info easier.
* Other small changes and bugfixes
Mods
Most of our mods have already been updated and are available for download. The Profiler and Raid Tracker need to wait for our Version 6.2 release and a touch more testing respectively. Both will load as an out of date addon and should work fine. More info is available on the GLMods site:
http://glmods.guildlaunch.com/index.php
Enjoy!

Good news.
But i do hope the downtime is minimal cause with the release of 3.1 patch on wow, this is the time when our forums and website is most active at (starting now). Hate to see people not able to access the website at a critical time ...

There is no perfect time for downtime when you are a global company so we have a predictabe and scheduled time when we do backups and we make our releases coincide with that to minimize the overall impact.
This release requires no additional downtime other than our typical one hour of downtime on Wednesday morning 7-8am (EST).

For some of us little cuddly people in Europe, the patch 3.1 goes live on wednesday 15th (EU is always staggered one day later than USA)... Thus our forums will be very busy with people preparing for starting the new raid...

Downtime on WoW EU servers are scheduled to be 3am - 11 am (CEST) Central European summer time.
might aswell time the update to GuildLaunch during this period less hustle for all parts i guess, although its during the evening and night, based on where you guys live
EDIT: If you are to update the site at 7-8am EST, that will make it 1-2pm (CEST) 2-3 hours after realms (hopefully) reopen. Probably somewhat bad timing since this will be during or just before people step foot into Ulduar for the first time.

We have very good data on usage. There is actually a trough in usage right after the servers come up. There is no good time. If we plan around Europe, we'll have U.S. griping. If we plan around U.S. completely we'd hit Europe's lunch time. The time we've chosen isn't accidental, it's based on actually seeing the usage data across Guild Launch. Guild Launch as a whole is nearly at absolute minimum usage for the day and the week on Wednesdays 7-8am EST. As that data changes we adjust.
And the Europe folks don't have to wait a day for the new features we have related to 3.1, so that's something.

was there any alliance site updates/ changes for this one? (i.e. one of the small several changes), or was this mostly the meat of the 3.1 content patch and the items you listed.
Just curious if I am to go back on testing mode
