Guild Launch Version 6.6 Release Notes
This release is a very focused release to provide key, in-depth enhancements to Raid Signups, provide other functionality such as the Boss Strat widget and perform bug fixes.
Feature Additions
Raid Signups
The Raid Signup process has been completely overhauled. Changes include:
* A new Overview tab allows users and admin to focus on the critical functionality of the Raid Signups: When is the raid, who is signed up, who is approved into signup groups, and to indicate your availability.
* The new Group Detail, Signup Detail and Templates tab allow you to focus on those repsective tasks on a page dedicated to that functionality.
* Seperation of Admin functions from User functions
* Seperation of major function areas into a tabbed layout
* Ajax through 95% of the functionality for quicker loads, less clicking, etc.
* Sorting is now retained on the Signup list
* Fixed "LATE" signup detection
* Ability to signup as "Avaiable", "Tentative" and "Unavailable" so no more two step process
* Ability to add to your signup notes after signing up.
* Full tracking of state changes for signups and who made the change when. e.g. The system tracks if you change from Available to unavailable and adds the time it was done and who made the change (User or Admin) and allows the user to add to their not when making the change
* A very visible Raid Name, Date and Pool indicator is now shown on the signup overview page.
* The new Signup Overview page contains all of the critical data that most users and admins need to determien the state of the raid signups.
* You can now edit a Signup Group so you can change the Max Participants, Auto Fill Settings and Group name whithout removing all of the members.
* The saving of Group templates is now done in a seperate tab. This change deemphasizes this process and makes it clearer that it is optional.
* The Signup information has been reorganized to be clearer and more readable.
* Signup notes have been refined so that the first 50 characters of the signup note displays always and the full signup note is shown on a hover, so no clicking and reclicking is required to check signup notes.
* A "Class & Signup Date" sort has been added to the Signup Detail tab.
* All sorting on the Signup Detail tab is retained when assigning members to groups and changing their status.
* The signup detail tab is fully Ajax driven so that signups can be done without page reloads and without losing your place in the signup list.
* The Quick signup option has been moved to the left to be more readily available.
* Instructions and wording on all pages have been improved.
* Instructions regarding how to get an eligible character for signing up has been improved.
* A Green, Yellow and Red stripe runs down the right side of the signup list to help you orient when looking at a long list of signups.
* Some tabs duplicate access to certain functionality such as changing a signup status, so that these often performed functions are at your fingertips. This will become more noticeable as you gain experience with the new layout.
Boss Strat Widget
We all know that Boss Strategy is important in alot of games. The new Boss Strat widget is something that I dreamed up after noticing just how many guilds linked to boss strats, made posts about boss strats. This widget provides a way for an admin to embed a video, link to a discussion, and to link to other info regarding a boss strategy. The user can then shuffle through the strategies directly onto the widget and click on a link for more detailed info such as the video.
This widget is very flexible for sharing all sorts of boss strategy info and we think you all will enjoy it alot.
Warhammer Character Profiler
The Warhamme character profiler is now in Beta and the data can be uploaded to the site. You can access the upload form at the bottom of your Characters tab on your User Profile.
Image Gallery Comments
Guild members can now post comments on pictures in the Image Gallery. This has been an often requested feature and we're glad to be making it available. Admins are able to delete comments, but otherwise the system is a straight forward stream of posts, no editing, no threading, no BBCode.
Enhancements
* Changed header background color entry on the template editor to accept more varied colors including those with pounds signs (#) and those without.
* The application now correctly enforces a numeric header height on the template editor
* The calendar page now shows the user's and the guild's current date, time and timezone information at the bottom.
* Better session expiration detection has been added in many areas so that the app will now inform the user of the session expiration instead of presenting an error or blank page.
* Error codes have been added to some messages to differentiate between subtle error differences.
* We've moved the "Old Import" into an area for "eqDKP Compatible" imports. This should support usage of mods such as Headcount. If you have any Headcount sample export XML we would like to test more with them. Please send them to support@guildlaunch.com
* An indicator for whether a use is signed up for a raid is now available on the Signup Overview page and on the Calendar Itinerary
* The Guild Itinerary for the month no longer shows events and raids that have passed.
* Various instructions in the Signup Process have been refined. In addition the layout has been refined to make some notifications larger and to make the multi-step process more evident.
* Some Rapid Raid navigation has been cleand up
Bug Fixes
* PMs to users with special characters will now function properly
* A minor layout issue has been fixed on the Add Raid page
* An issue with requiring a login to post in public forums has been fixed
* An error with moving images when an image_id wasn't present has been fixed.
* Sorting in the File LIbrary has been fixed.
* An error that could lead to an error on the Section linkbox page has been fixed.
* An issue with display of certain HTML in the Wiki editor has been fixed.
* The KOS page will no longer error if a KOS ID is not provided.
* The Date Range Type on the Advanced Attendance Report is now properly defaulted.
* An error has been fixed that would lead to signup instructions being removed from a raid when it was edited.
* An error has been fixed that was leading to Events being created with invalid data on the Events page for Rapid Raid.
* When adding a character that already exists on the guild roster the user is now presented with a recommendation to claim the character.
* An issue that could lead to an error on the poll creation page has been fixed.
