Version 6.8 Released
Version 6.8 - Sneak Peak
Version 6.8 is a major update that contains a ton of user requested features as well as enhancements and bug fixes! Read on for the full release notes.
README: If your forums look mashed together then please clear your browser cache or use Shift+ F5 to force a refresh. There are CSS changes that some browsers are not seeing due to caching.
"Post is Answered" Functionality
When creating a forum you now have the option to enable "post is answered" functionality. The purpose of this functionality is to provide a way for Admins, Moderators and Topic Creators to indicate that a specific post in reply to the topic answered the topic.
You probably won't enable this in all forums, but if you have any "Help" forums then this is very useful. When a post is marked as answering the topic the first post and the answers get a special header that let you quickly click straight to the answer.
More Forum Style Options
The user info (registered date, posts, username, etc.) can now be moved to the right or the left depending on the Admin's preference.
Making this change required some other subtle refinement of the post display. We've run this change by quite a few people and while subtle, the consensus was that it was cleaner looking and easier to read. We hope you like it and if you don't please give it some time.
The setting for right vs. left avatars is on the extended configuration page on the content tab in the Admin area.
Traditional SubForum Support
Traditional subforum support has been added to the forums. You now have the option of not just making the forum a subforum but to also link it with a specific forum. If you do this then when you click on the "Parent" forum you will see all subforums. Subforums are also shown below the forums on the Index.
This can be set using the Edit link on a forum in the Admin area. Note the forum must be set as a subforum *and* attached to a forum for the traditional subforum type.
Auto Raid Eligibility Settings
Previous to this release every character added to the guild site was marked as raid eligible. This functionality can now be turned off. If it is on, then you can now select a minimum level to mark as raid eligible. This will allow you to have a guild site where only Max Level characters are set as raid eligible when added to the guild site's roster.
These settings are set on the Rapid Raid tab in the Admin area.
More Rapid Raid Signup Options
Admins now have the option of signing up an Entire raid roster Group or Role for a Raid. So, now you can do even more creative things with this functionality.
Guild Award Functionality
Guild Awards are now available. You can add a name, a description, and a point value. As well you can choose an image from your file library.
When an award is given to a user the Award will show on their user profile. The user can choose to 'Equip' one of the awards. When the award is equipped that award will show in the forums. Users can be awarded multiple awards from multiple guilds but can only equip one at a time.
There is always a "Recent Awards" widget showing people who have recently won an award.
This functionality is optional and must be enabled on the "Extended Configuration" page on the Content tab in Admin. When it is enabled a new tab will appear on the Guild Roster.
PM Upgrades
Users can now PM guild members based on rank and permission group. In addition, you can create your own custom groups of Guild members.
Gallery Upgrades
You can now select an image in the gallery to show as the "Cover" of the gallery. If you don't select one then the most recent image is used as it was previously.
Gallery comments are now shown at the Main level and at each Gallery. This should provide more fun for this area since you can see all image discussions in one go instead of having to click into each image.
Guild Twitter Functionality
The Guild site can now have a Twitter account associated with it.
This account is currently used for a Twitter Widget where Guild Admins and those with "Communications" admin rights can post to the guild's Twitter account.
In addition there is now a Twitter option on every news post which will allow users with Communications admin permissions to post the news and the URL to the guild's Twitter account.
These settings are configured on the Twitter page on the Content tab in the Admin area.
Much more is planned for this functionality such as raid start announcements i.e. "Trial of the Grand Crusader starts in 30 minutes!". We welcome your feedback on what you want to see in this area!
Aion Funcitonality
The [aionspell] tag is now available to link spells in your forum posts. It works in the same manner as the [aionitem] tag.
We've added an Aion server status widget which displays the status of all Aion servers.
Aion class icons have been updated to more current colored one.
Lotro Functionality
[lotroitemico] is now a supported BBtag. This will render just the item icon.
Game Currencies in the Guild Bank
Currencies have been updated to display properly on the Guild Bank for all games that we could find verifiable currency info. If your game shows a generic "money" currency then you can email us the correct currency info at support@guildlaunch.com and we can add it in a future release.
Other Changes
* The View Recent Post page now shows only unread post
* Users can now choose how negative percentage adjustments are handled. The current method is to do nothing. You can now select "decay towards 0". This was added as an option based on user request.
* Trial of the Crusader and "Trial of the Grand Crusader" will now make the Crusader's Coliseum icon show on the calendar.
* The Volume of the Homepage Music is now configurable.
* The last edited text in the forums now has a div around it that you can use to color it. The div's class is "last_edited".
* The news posts and Last Forum Posts display has been changed to show "moments ago" when the post is within the last 5 seconds. This removes the odd "-1" second issues introduced by subsecond variations in server times.
* The Upcoming and Past raid lists now have an "Add Raid" link at the bottom.
* The Calendar day detail page now has options for deleting, importing into, and editing raids.
Bug Fixes
* A bug with Read/Unread flags showing improperly has been fixed.

* An issue causing the Raid Signup Groups to misreport the signup totals has been fixed.
* The Who's Online widget is now renamable.
* The back to top link in the forums now works again in Firefox
* Fixed an uncommon issue with caching and primary navigation
* PvP team permissions have been fixed
* An issue causing the read/unread flag to show inmproperly for forms with shadow topics has been fixed
* An issue causing the wrong date to show as the last raid for Alts has been resolved.

The display has been cleaned up a bit, but there were almost no changes to the display of the User info other than to link the name and the avatar. It was just made to be able to be displayed on the left or the right. Other than that we removed a single line of text that shows on a lot of sites that read "not"set" if the user didn't have a rank. That line was completely useless and just led to people asking "What is not set?". This might be what is making you think it is mushed together.
There *are* some subtle changes to the forum post layout, to support the movable avatar section, give them some time and they grow on you. Users we ran the change by universally like it after they used for it a bit.

What happened to the forums?
Everything looks all mushed together, especially the user info.

I'll need a screenshot and info on your browser and OS. I'm not seeing that in any of our test environments.

When reading a post, the topic and text are incorrectly formatted now. Flush left against the avatar. The padding appears to be gone and something else isn't right either...

If anyone is seeing forum oddness then try to force a refresh in your browser. Your browser may have old CSS.
Shift + F5 will usually do it.
Otherwise clearing your cache definitely will.

The post seperator lines seem to be missing on our forums. Is this intentional with all templates, or just a bug on the one we are using? (WoW Theme 1 (Full Width)). If this in an intentional change along all templates, is there a way to get the back? The posts tend to look like they all run on together.

Thank you! Thank you!

There should be different visual indicators now for post separation, but they are more subtle. It may take a bit for your mind to readjust. If you still feel the posts are run together later today then we can look at adding more defined visual indicators.
I'm not against making minor tweaks, with 50+ different templates sometimes they need them, but please give it a little time.

Note: I've found a bug where the topic titles display wrong when the post is reverse sorted. I'll have i fixed later today probably.

Hi,
Is it just me not figuring it out or is the aion server status widget only displaying the NA servers? We need the EU.
thx
