Forum Search Indexing Fixed
Greetings,
We've found, and fixed, an issue that was causing forum search indexes to not be built properly. There was an issue with the search software's documentation that led us to use a command syntax which caused the indexer to run, be built, and then not replace the old index. So, when we ran the indexer via a scheduled job it would appear to run just fine and would in fact run, report it was fine, even go so far as to send us a status email that it was fine even though it had not completed the last step to make the new index live.
This has been resolved and we will monitor it for the next few days and make sure it is working properly. We've also notified the developer so they can fix the underlying issue or correctly document the behavior.
Enjoy!
Stephen

The Your Posts search works completely different than the free text searches. I'll have to look at the Your Post search and see what is up. It definitely looks wrong.
As for the free text, they won't get indexed instantly. It might take about 24 hours. Do you have a specific search term?

I can confirm that something is still not working correctly when the indexer run as a scheduled job. I'm looking into it.

Just for reference, see this thread.
I did an open field search (no quotes, plus signs, anything) for spelling correction (the subject), guild roster imports, and form field explanations.
Also searched by author, for Averiy (not "View your posts" link).
None of these got any results at all; that thread dates back to 10/13 - 10/14.

Ok.. I think I have this figured out but I need to verify in our development environment and then I can push out the fix tomorrow.
