Guild Launch News
RELEASE: Version 3.4 - Polling, New WYSIWYG & More
NOTE: We are currently researching an issue with the new Editor and Internet Explorer 7. For some reason, it loads in our development environment and not on the live site. We believe it is related to using subdomains differently on the live site and we should have a fix shortly.

UPDATE: The WYSIWYG is now working as intended in IE, Firefox & Safari. Predictably Firefox is standards non-compliant on the exact features that IE tries to stick to standards. In opposite land they find that fact funny.

Is there any possibility in the future for guilds who use the EPGP system to have the Item Price list auto-populate with the item cost?
For example [Spaulders of the Advocate] has a set GP cost of 295 (or 295.49 for us purists, hehehe). This is the cost of these shoulders for any EPGP system as prices are based upon itemlevel and slot and rarity...so pretty standardized.
WoWHead, WoWDB, Thottbot, Allakhazam all state the itemlevel of an item; however, it's not on the mouse-over so you end up having to go to their site...even though this information CAN be shown on mouseovers as I've seen it on other sites...so that information can be pulled from somewhere...
Be nicer than to have to enter hundreds of items individually...considering one of the reasons many guilds move to an EPGP system is the standardized pricing and not having to put together something along those lines...
Just a thought...

I would rather focus our efforts, in EPGPs case, on putting the costing functionality into the RaidTracker. The reason being that maintaining the item stats in our system has all sorts of wonderful annoyances compared to just getting them straight from the horses mouth right in game. When the item pops up, calculate the cost, enter it into the cost field, import it.
The price list we created in this release isn't really intended for WoW where there is raid tracker. The intent was to give other games, or people running fixed cost systems a place to store that info. Creating a dynamic price list that calculates prices for every variation of item pricing is a bit much to bite off, but we can make a list and let the users use it how they see fit.
Essentially, if we focus calculated costing on the in-game mods we can get the most bang for the buck.

Gotcha...
I was thinking more of the item list for people constantly asking "What's the cost of this?"
We have a calculator online (thanks to Oberan) where they can input the itemlevel and select the slot and rarity and it will calculate the cost...but you'd be amazed at the number of people who cannot even do that, hehehe...

Seems like the Fonts are too large now...it's really skewing things off...am I the only one thinking this?
Raid Details Page Enhancements
The event list for Rapid Raid on the raid details page has been refined. The new layout provides more information at a quick glance and better highlights the most important information such as the DKP for the event, the Boss killed, and the attendees. Overall, it just looks better.

This is an example of what I mean:

Everything looks scrunched over to the right too much...

At a typical resolution of 1280x1024 that layout gives the longer boss names enoguh room to grow into the space. The date, attendees, etc. are just aligned to the right side. The boss and DKP are on the left.
It's a change, I understand that, and I can reduce the font size, but maybe let it sink in a bit and let me know what you think after the weekend.

Well, so far getting nothing but complaints from my guild about it being too difficult to read now. Before it was nice columns, now it's all moved to the right making it difficult to separate each column.
I don't mind change, you should know me by now...but I do mind it when it make something that was somewhat easier to read harder.
Why the font change? Why no just make it use whatever fonts and sizes are placed in the CSS? Or are you using a heading label instead of just text?
I'm not saying more information is not good...but the presentation of it is less than satisfying...
The columns don't even line up...that's my biggest beef...so if decreasing the font size will at least make them aligned that would be an improvement. Or at least make it configurable in the CSS...and I'll change it myself!

Ok, so now we're getting into some specifics. The previous layout of this info was a mess. It started out very clean but we've added more info over time. So we decided to give it a makeover. The previous layout had a complete mess of crap all jumbled over to the left.
This layout is fundamentally superior though. We've removed alot of unneeded info. And made the important info more visible. The text was a bit smaller though in the old version and the attendance columns lined up as well as some of the other columns lining up a bit more which I'm sure was nice when scanning for attendance. Template changes site wide have to be done in builds but I can adjust your template on your site a bit and get your feedback.
Take a look at this page logged out:

Does that look more like you want it?

Now THAT looks much nicer...things are lined up properly and overall it's a "prettier" display.
For those who aren't seeing the difference:

Nice Neat Font:
The points don't need to be moved if the columns just line up together...that's my main beef...neatness over randomness, hehehe...

Different topic. Now I can't get any java or flash to work on the guild description. I even tried to use the html widget in center mode. I was trying to get a chatbox from coolwebtoys.com to work as well as a music player from projectplaylist.com. It was a part of our original guildlaunch homepage, but now it won't work. How do i add these things? On the original version of guildlaunch the guild description box worked very similarly to myspace, you just had to drop the code in the box. Now it seems that you have to be an html wizard to do anything.
vaportrail,
I responded in your other thread about this. Did you see my response? If not, then try clicking the "HTML" button on the editor area and pasting the HTML into the window that pops up.
If that doesn't work, then PM me the code you are trying to use and I'll work on tracking down why it won't work or how to make it work. We didn't intend to reduce any functionality with the addition of the WYSIWYG, so we'll just need to test your specific HTML and see what might be happening that is making it not work.

Unfortunately the direct paste into the html box didn't work. It also doesn't work for the html widget. I sent you the two html codes that I am trying to use. As far as I know they are standard html and have worked on every website I have posted them on. On the other hand I have never had any luck with WYSIWYG working properly in regards to flash.
