UPDATE: Version 3.7 - Alt/Main Functionality
I am going to be doing a test rollout of the new Alt/Main display functionality. The initial test rollout uses a page name "new_members.php" as a placeholder and will allow us to test the queries on live data without changing all of the sites over to the new queries at once. This should limit any sitewide exposure while we verify that the queries are performing appopriately.
This "new_members.php" will load the page using the new queries while we test. I am going to roll out the actual pages that rely on this functionality in stages to ensure that if there is any unwanted performance impact it doesn't effect all of the sites at once. I've tested the new queries all weekend and done performance tests on live data sets so I'm confident the new queries will perform. However, considering the impact of these queries I'm going to be extra cautious in rolling them out.
You can help us test the new queries by changing the URL of the members page to "new_members.php" and then reloading the page. You can then compare the new page to the old page by loading both.

Hi Stephen! I'm a newcomer to GL but so far I've seen nothing but good work coming out of you and your team's hands - thanks for all the great job done!
One thing that have I been wondering with the MAIN/ALT functionality, is it possible to incorporate it into your roster system? Where it will just show all the characters designated as MAIN and there will be a "+" to open up the branches with all the assigned ALT. That way the roster looks cleaner without so much clutter.
Anyway, keep up the great track record you've got there - its much appreciated!

Thanks for the compliments!
I'll put your idea on the wishlist. I can't guarantee we'll incorporate it soon, but it's a logical idea and we'll see what we can do.

Um.... Where is this membership page? I think I've tried everything, but each time I replace with the new_members.php I get the dreaded page not found error.
Would love to see the difference.

I apologize, I should have updated my post. The new functionality is actually live now and is included in the existing "members.php" page. Thanks for trying to test it out though.

AH.... You're too fast.
Playing around, I only found the "MAIN" icon to show up on an individual's character's page, not on the Guild Membership/Character pages. Is that by design? Or am I missing the correct URL all together?
Thanks again to GL for there tireless efforts to keep their product fresh and on the edge!

Currently the "crown" only shows on the profile pages. We'll be looking into adding it other places that are appropriate going forward.
