Guild Launch News
Achievement Updates - WoW
Greetings,
This morning Blizzard turned live a brand new Armory API which supports additional data and performs better than the previous system. With the launch of the new Blizzard Armory API we are now pulling in additional data, such as full character achievement data. This means you can track all achievements by running a roster and character import.
Achievement Updates
In addition, we have added a new widget for showing Character Achievements on your site:
In addition, the existing Achievement tracking widget is now far more useful and the Achievement tab in the Roster Area has seen significant improvements.
Guild achievement tracking is coming next.
Imports
The new system also supports additional info in imports. The item data is more accurate, and we have access to info such as Average iLevel and Average Equipped iLevel. Given this we have reworked the character profile to highlight this new and very useful data.
Some of the detail data such as strength, mana, etc. and specific resists are not yet available, but we are working on adding it back. Our focus on the initial transition was to highlight useful data instead of duplicating Armory data.
Enjoy the new functionality. There is a lot more data available via the API that we will hooking into soon.
Enjoy!

That's brilliant! Looking forward to seeing what else you can pull off the Armories
Um .. I'd just like to point out that the heading for the new Achievements widget is misspelled .. "Achivements" rather than "Achievements"

Guild Roster (on the website) > Armory Imports (left side menu) .. then tick all of the available options and import, staying on that page. However, if you're subscription site, I'm assuming that when it does its next update, it will include those bits anyway.
Regardless, you're restricted to doing an update once a day, roughly.
It would be nice if the widget could update itself automatically seperately from the roster, but I don't know how feasible that is. It just means that sometimes the widget will be about a day out.

Updating with the roster is really the best option. For large guilds the data set is quite large and Blizzard updates regularly, but not constantly on their end, so 24 hours is granular "enough". We might be able to halve that after we get a feel for the new API though.

I changed the number of achievements and it keep resetting to 5 is it supposed to stay 5 or something?
Nope ... I've changed ours to 10 and it accepted it okay. However, you may need to wait for the next Armory link/update for it to populate the extra Achievements, perhaps?
Our Achievements Widget doesn't appear to be updating via the automatic updater. The last update (and only update) was 2 days ago when I did a manual update - however I know for a fact that there have been achievements gained since then. The last update has been in the last 12 hours, I believe (I noticed the Guild Perks widget had updated), yet there is at least one additional Achievement shown on the Armories that happened 18 hours ago, that isn't showing on the widget.
(Note .. I am only mentioning that one because it was the most obvious, and first, that I came across ... I'm sure there are many more.)
In fact, on checking, the last import was apparently "... performed on 04-08-2011 18:37" ...

I'm going to have to make an adjustment to the automated import to get it to pull in achievements properly. Until then (should be in the next couple of days) running a manual import with 'Import Character Gear and Stats?' checked should import them.
