Guild Launch News
SWTOR Server Status Widget
A long time ago, in an office far, far away, the developers at Guild Launch have been tinkering in secret to forge themselves a master ring...
Wait. Mixing movies again.
So, Star Wars. You're a site owner, and you want to know if your SWTOR server is up. You could check the Bioware site, but you're already on Guild Launch anyway, so wouldn't it be so much easier to just check your Guild Launch site?
We think so.
There's a widget for that.

I have a problem with this widget. Have a look:
Whereas the Server up image looks fine:
Also, is it possible for us to use our own graphics a la, a HTML widget? Or possibly get a version with just the red/green button, minus the metal frame? The default graphic just doesn't go well with our site.
And thank you for the recent SWTOR updates.

The text wrapping has been fixed.
We may be able to make a version with less embellishments. I'll put it on our wish list and we'll see what we can do.

I think you need to stay abreast of the changes BioWare keeps making.
Right now Hydian Way shows as 'Low' with the GL widget, when BioWare calls it 'Light'. Also last night you were showing 'Very Heavy' when http://www.swtor.com/server-status consistently showed 'Heavy'.
My own testing shows that you can get inconsistent results even from the same IP (Chrome browser versus a perl/LWP script, I assume some DNS round-robin shenanigans) so the latter may just have been some caching effect, but the 'Low' is plain wrong now.

We are keeping an eye on their changes. They have changed the way they represent the info and the underlying data 2 or 3 times in as many days. They didn't just change the names, but how the data was stored in the file. Fortunately, the population of the server is mostly "flavor". I'm sure that page will stabilize soon and we'll make changes to sync up with it and things will go on their merry way.

1 is the lowest population, 5 is the highest. We are now using the same colors they use on the server status page. Basically, if you see a 5 then you can expect queues.

There is some caching on our end so that we don't completely slam the SWTOR.com site and make Bioware upset with us. We cache the data for about 5 minutes.

We've made a change to the layout of the widget so that it will display better given the large variance in the length of server names. The vertical alignment will also be improved.
