Guild Launch News
System Updates - 03/01/12
We have just completed our next sprint here at Guild Launch, which (as always) means more fun things for all our Guild Launchers!
1. If you have a Guild Wars 2 website, this announcement is for you: our graphic designer just put out two new Guild Wars 2 templates!
2. We are now offering Mumble servers! (Well, technically the server is Murmur, but it's the Mumble client and for all intents and purposes... okay, I'll shush now.) You can order Mumble servers on our billing website!
I'll start writing FAQs for that as I see what people have questions on in that regard.
3. Auto-logins have been updated to be even more secure. For those of you with more than one computer at the same IP with the same username (multiple users are not affected), you might notice yourself being logged out on the other machine, but 99.9% of users should not be affected by this at all and the security upgrade is necessary.
4. Internal system updates. I won't bore you with full details on this front, as it's a bunch of technical jargon, but the result is a better, faster, stronger Guild Launch!
Stay tuned for more excitement here in the future!

Ever since the changes I have had to log in to both our SWTOR and WOW site every time I close my browser (Firefox) for any length of time.
I am not using multiple computers on the same IP or even on a different IP, and yet am having to relog each time if the browser is closed.
Any ideas on how to fix this annoyance?

I see the issue. It will effect some people with multiple sites. Will have a fix in the morning.

The issue with auto-logins should now be fixed. Please let us know if you see any further issues.

It's definitely possible. View the background image* on a site that has it to find the image URL, save the image, and set it as your page background image. That should accomplish it.
EDIT:
*Right click the background on a site that has it, and there will be a link to 'View Background'.

I seem to only be able to copy the header and footer images but not any image as a background.
When I try to add just a header or footer it doesn't attach to the actual background it appears in the content boxes. If you check my website you'll see it set as a footer atm.
EDIT: I removed the image now, rah I must be stupid can't figure out how to get separate headers/footers for background specifically instead of content headers/footers.

Regarding #3 - and the new auto-login security change.
I find it hard to believe that 99.9% are not noticing this change, most of my guild is affected now - including myself.
My guess is you guys didn't think about Mobile cell logins, or Work logins? If I login from my data connection on my cell-phone from work or home - then check from my laptop/home computer I have to re-login due to the diffrent IP addresses from my work, home or cell.
I have to constantly relogin if I check from my cell while I'm at my home - unless I am on the wireless network with my mobile cell which obviously is in the same IP range.
So in summary - check from your mobile(your data connection), or work? When you check on your Home system you will have to re-login. Check from home, then your cell on your data connection at the same location? Still a different IP range, still requires to re-login. This is 3 different instances I have to re-login here.
This is a hassle the way it works currently.. 99.9%? Re-think that please. I bet many of your users check this from work, or mobile cells on their data line, etc. and then their home connection later - and vise versa. (all which requires a re-login - all which have different IP ranges which force this new rule to re-login).
A solution?
Allow multiple IP's to be recognized and accepted, instead of 1 IP recognized.
That way, I and way more then 99.9% of your users can re-login "ONCE" to each location, your system will recognize these authenticated new IP's and add them as authenticated. Then when they check on these devices/diff locations - they will not require a re-login.
Requiring a re-login THEN will not affect 99.9% of your users, after this proposed change above - or just to do away with the change entirely.
The .1% would be the small chance you check from a friends computer, or a friends cell-phone etc. something out of the ordinary.

Thank you, what I figured from what you said will happen in #3 is why we are all experiencing this.
We use our Mobile Cell Phones and we are using our data connection instead of the local wireless, to check the site.
We use our Work to check the site.
We use our Home to check the site.
All 3 of these situations have different IP Address Ranges; naturally. The way #3 is saying if it detects a diffrent IP it will force a re-login , this is why.
So I see why it's happening. You just need to allow more then 1 IP per login and this would be resolved.

You should have your GFX Team make more Minecraft templates. I love the current one but i would love to see some more!
Thanks
Thanks
Can you put that request in our Feature Requests area on Uservoice? The URL is http://guildlaunch.uservoice.com/forums/106449
#3 is happening regardless of the IP address. Even if it should only occur when multiple devices are using the one IP, that inconveniences me when I use a PC, my iPhone and my iPad at home and I have to relocate constantly despite the (now false option) Remember Me box being checked.
Given the description of the fix, I fail to see what possible security problem you're solving.
Edit: I had to log in again to edit this post. Same network. Same iPhone. It's a real pain to have to type my login credentials repeatedly into this site with a phone.
