Attractions of Hanioti
Hanioti is primarily a beach resort, so its main attraction is considered nature. On one side of the resort is surrounded by pine groves and olive groves, and on the other side is limited by the sea. The coastline in Hanioti is long enough, covered with fine pebbles, the beach entrance is shallow and the sea is very clean. The swimming season here lasts from May to October.
The beach line is so long (a few kilometers) that anyone can find a place for himself. There are relatively wild places where you can come with your sun lounger, and equipped with territory, often belonging to a hotel, but the rest on these beaches may be anyone, not just a guest of the hotel.
The resorts of the peninsula of Halkidiki are an excellent starting point for radial trips and sightseeing in Northern Greece. You can do this with one of the many excursions or, for example, by renting a car. So, popular are the trips to the monasteries of Meteora, to the foot of Mount Olympus, to Thessaloniki, to the monastery of Athos, the Varvara waterfalls and other destinations.
For those who are ready to explore more vast distances, the route to the fabulous coastal town of Parga or to one of the National Parks is perfect. However, in Hanioti itself it is difficult to find a car to rent, the resort is small, so it is recommended for active travel to rent a car directly at the airport of arrival. In the summertime, public transport is also available, but you must be prepared for transfers and not always a convenient schedule.
If you plan to visit these places not with an organized tour, but by public transport, you first need to get to Thessaloniki, and from there, from the railway or bus station to go in the right direction.
