There will be an option for alts, its was kind of confirmed when there were talks about using Companions to hunt for treasure, materials etc when you have logged out.

So people asked if you can have many alts and have tons of Companions getting you the best materials and stuff all the time. It was confirmed that you "could" do this, but you would need an infite (mojo) amount of money to do this.

I am not happy with how they forced classes to different sides. SO yea i will have a BH AND a Commando that will be played with. But no worries. Ill probably go hunting when guildside is quiet. I have in everygame posible played the "rebel" side .. cos thats usualy were the stronger personalities are Happy

I would be very very surprised that there will not be alts as they have mensioned time and again that there will be places were you can switch your charaters ships ( ie your characters). .and if not .. 2 or 3 accounts i go :D same as in SWG altho there i ended up with 5

Erm, will you be playing a BH as a main character in this game and a Rebel Commando as a alt?

i figured i would have one char of each good and bad,.. with my third and main char being ... like me .. so the game will show me if my thoughts are good or evil. My main being a BH should make this interesting. :D
