Ohana is a Republic guild on the Kaas City server in Star Wars the Old Republic.  

Ohana is an extended family or close community in Hawaiin.  Some of the members of Ohana have played together for years in RIFT (as Ohana) and in other guilds such as Alat Seldi (EQ1, EQ2, WoW and DAoC) and South of Heaven (WAR and Aion).  We are a close-knit, adult community.  It is not uncommon to see couples and families playing in our roster.  If you are interested in our guild, please contact AELA or MALICHEK in game.

Objectives

Ohana is primarily a PVE focused guild. We have some members who PVP, but this is not our focus. We are very much a flashpoint and ops focused guild.

Ohana is also a guild populated by working adults. Married couples play together and we recognize that family, work and real-life commitments come first. We are very much a guild that stresses tolerance and acceptances of lifestyle differences – the bigoted, narrow-minded, or social crusader trying to change everyone are each likely to not fit well within this community.

However, we need and expect active membership. Members of Ohana log in and participate in guild activities regularly: if you aren't logging in, why subscribe and if you don't engage in activities with your guild, why be in that guild? 

We are comfortable with flexible schedules, we ask members to sign-up in advance for events where they know they are available or unavailable to help us coordinate roster needs. 

Extended absences are fine, but should be communicated in advance to better enable coordination.

Where we stand right now

We currently run 8-person ops three times a week. Our raid times work best for the west coast, or late night east coaster. We typically start raids at 9:30pm eastern time (8:30pm central, 6:30pm pacific) and we finish at midnight eastern time (11:00pm central, 9:00 pm eastern). We do not run late and only exceed end time when a final attempt runs past that timeframe (e.g. never more than 10-minutes over).

What we are looking for

Level 50 characters either in, or very close to raid eligibility. You could easily be a fresh-50 and we can work with you on HM's.

We prefer to work with players who are competent in their roles, but we do work with people new to raiding. Teachable and follows instructions are important attributes for our team. While we are happy to incorporate players already playing at a high skill level, we are just as happy to find teammates with good upside potential. An all-star soloist with no team skills is not the person we are looking for. “Plays well with others” is an expectation.

We will consider couples and groups of friends as a single-group for recruiting. We have several couples who play together and we understand and attempt to be a family-friendly guild.

Ohana uses Vent to coordinate FP/Ops. We expect all guild members present to at least listen in to vent during guild activities. You don’t have to talk, but coordinating is a lot easier if everyone is listening in.
